HPM 2019 conference will take place at Naxos Cultural Centre located in the former Ursuline School, Naxos.
Positioned at the highest point of the medieval castle district known as Kastro, the Ursuline School offers spectacular panoramic views onto the Aegean, the Temple of Apollo and surrounding islands, Paros, Mykonos and Syros.
Visible from afar, the newly restored and renovated three-story neoclassic building elicits an aura of science and academia; a milieu befitting to its history as one of Greece’s finest convents for schooling at the time.
The school started to be built in 1739 and was in operation until 1970. Restored in 2009, it reopened as a state-of-the-art cultural center equipped with all necessary facilities for various cultural events and conferences. It is 15 mins drive from Naxos airport.
A spot of white in the turquoise waters of the Aegean Sea, the island of Naxos is a unique blend of ancient ruins and beach culture. The largest of the Cycladic Islands, Naxos is the childhood home of none other than Zeus, king of the gods. Portara, a stone gateway to an ancient temple that no longer exists is the symbol of the island. This is an excellent place for walking and hiking which offers breathtaking views, especially at sunset.
